Prep is the first year of school and provides the foundation for your child's education while building on your child's learning at home and in other places like kindergarten and child care. The curriculum in the Prep Year is based on the National Curriculum and the Early Years Curriculum Guidelines. Both guiding documents enable our young students to:
- take on responsibilities
- become more independent
- respect other people
- cooperate with others
- make sensible choices about their health and safety
- develop their physical skills
- develop their oral language
- develop their understanding of literacy and numeracy
- learn how to be thinkers and problem solvers
- use their imagination and creativity
- learn about their environment

2025 Enrolments
Prep enrolments for 2025 will open on Monday 29th April at 7.00am. Applications will be accepted only via email to enrolments@jamboreeheightsss.eq.edu.au.
Please note that it is unlikely that we will have the capacity to take out-of-catchment enrolments for 2025 due to our current Enrolment Management Plan and projected growth. The best advice we offer to all out-of-catchment families is to have a Plan B ready to enact, i.e. enrol at another school or one in your catchment.
Please ensure you have completed the Checklist of Forms for Enrolment to confirm you have included all necessary documents. Emails will only be received
from 7.00am (emails received earlier than this time will not be accepted). If
there are any missing documents, the enrolment will not be accepted until the
time they are all provided. We will email confirmation of receipt as soon as
possible.
The office will open at 8am for any enquiries.

Give Kindy the tick
Starting school is an important milestone in your child's life.
The transition to Prep is a critical time, both exciting and challenging, and a positive start supports your child's confidence and ongoing learning success.
Transition statements contain valuable information about your child's learning and development at kindergarten as well as suggestions for supporting their continued learning at school.
Kindergarten teachers develop the transition statement in November with input from parents/carers and children.
When shared with the new school, transition statement assist us in planning for the continuity of learning and wellbeing of your child.
If your child attended a kindergarten program ensure you tick the kindergarten box in the previous education section on the school enrolment form. This will help us to understand your child's prior learning experiences.
Together, let's make the big moves smaller.
