English as a Second Language (ESL)

The English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher assesses the needs and supports the teachers and parents of the recently arrived and Australian born children whose first language is not English. The main focus is language and communication as a premise for general learning.

The school chaplain is employed through Scripture Union Queensland and operates under the umbrella of the Centenary district Chaplaincy Committee, which incorporates a cluster of five local schools.

The chaplain provides additional support for students by providing "an ear" for willing students as well as coordinating structured programs based on friendships and relationships. The Chaplain also participates in lunch-time activities, supports leadership programs, participates in school functions and activities that enhance the school's values education program.
